TEACHING

Teaching

As well as being a busy gigging musician, Luke is also an experienced educator and teaches in London and Hertfordshire. He teaches saxophone, clarinet, flute, jazz theory and improvisation, and is recognised as an Advanced Practitioner by Hillingdon Music Services. He has previously been guest saxophone tutor for National Children's Wind Orchestra.

Luke was course director for Musicale's annual summer music course in Cambridge (2012-16) leading an orchestra of around 50 children and arranging the music for the 5 day music course.

He was also music director for Hillingdon Jazz Orchestra and Hillingdon Youth Big Band (2012 - 17), and currently co-runs Camden Light Orchestra, a 60 piece community band with the ethos of 'any age, any instrument, any ability'.

Camden Saxophone Band

Luke started Camden Saxophone Band in 2016, an amateur band open to any saxophone players of any ability and age. We rehearse on Sunday mornings, 11am - 12:20 in Camden, North London.

We aim for a high standard but rehearsals are relaxed and fun.

We play a wide range of genres including jazz, rock, latin, classical - and indeed anything we like!
